About the Sisters

Hi! We’re Stephanie and Donna. Even though we attended the same large church since 1980, we only knew each other from across the crowded sanctuary.  In 1999, all that changed when I decided to join Stephanie’s 3rd mission trip to Russia. After the first trip together, we began a 501 (c)(3) organization, Treasures of the Heart. The primary mission was spreading the love of Jesus by providing food, housing, clothing, and education to orphans and single moms. Over the next 13 years, we traveled the world together with our husbands, Bob and Howard. In 2012, due to the changing world, we dissolved the organization, but not the friendship.  Sixteen years, and 26 countries later, we are still going strong with the aide of electric scooters. This blog is intended to encourage you to get off your chair and join the world!  We both have extreme mobility issues, but with the help of our traveling scooters, Luggie, we are building memories to last forever. While we don’t dwell on our disabilities, neither of us can walk a block.  Therefore, without the help of our Luggies, we would be pretty much home bound. Howard is a professional photographer and Stephanie and I love do our share.  All the photographs on the blog were taken you the Scooter Sisters, unless noted differently.

Afternoon Tea at Hotel de Orangerie in Bruges, Belgium.

The lobby was so beautiful!  Howard took our portraits as we waited for our turn at afternoon tea.  The tea room was stunning and everything we hoped to experience.
